Mission Statement:

 

Unite people with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, help them cope with their disease and improve

the quality of their lives through support and education using an online medium.

 

Provide education and support for family members and friends of people with PBC.

 

Via the internet and other media, raise public awareness regarding PBC, the need for research and organ donation.

 

Raise funds to support education and research that leads to identifying a cure for PBC.

 

Host and organize a PBC national conference every two years for PBC patients, family

members and friends to share information about current research, fundraising, educational

programs, and to provide an opportunity for those with PBC and their loved ones to network

with other PBCers.

 

 

PBCers Goal 

 

Our goal is that all who are diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis receive the support and education they need to cope with this disease.

 

 

How The PBCers Began

 

The PBCers support group was founded in 1996 by Linie Moore

Additional Information

The PBCers is open to all those who would like to learn more about PBC.  All members have the option of receiving the online PBC daily digest.  At this time there are no membership fees for our online digest, but please feel free to make a donation to the Education Fund to help defray our costs.

 

The PBCers Organization offers various "established" areas of help and support for our members. We ask our members not to start a new PBCers "group" chatroom, message board, listbot or website that you wish included as part of the PBCers Organization without prior approval.

 

Any type of PBCers Organization research project or survey must be approved by the Executive Committee before being submitted to the digest subscribers.

 

The Executive Committee has the right to remove an area of support from our organization's sponsorship at any time.
